Keith was born in St. Lawrence to a family whose history is very steep in soccer circles. His father Mr. Aubrey, and his oldest brother, Reg , are already in the St. Lawrence Soccer Hall of Fame.

After learning his soccer skills on the meadows in our town, he progressed to playing his first organized regular season game in 1964 as a member of the Junior Laurentians. He played with them until 1967 which culminated with the Most Valuable Player award in that year.

In 1967 he was a member of the first Laurentian and Newfoundland team to ever play for the national Challenge Cup - a game played in Ontario.

From the late 1960s, all of the 1970s, to the mid-1980s he played Senior or First Division with the St. Lawrence Laurentians which resulted in a number of team and individual achievements.

1969 saw him being a member of Memorial University Maritime Intercollegiate Athletic Association Soccer Championship. In 1970 he was a member of the Atlantic Intercollegiate Champions. His team at Memorial won the Canadian Intercollegiate National Championship-the first Nfld team to accomplish that feat in any sport.

Also in 1970 he was a member of the St. Lawrence Laurentians who were selected as the Team of the Year.

In 1975 he received the Most Gentlemanly and Effective Player award in St. Lawrence. He received that same award in 1980 and again in 1981.

Keith played on every St. Lawrence team that ever went to the Atlantic, Eastern, and National Challenge Cup competition up to the time of his retirement.

He is the only member of a St. Lawrence team to ever score a goal in a National Challenge Cup final game.

As a member of the Team of the Decade he faithfully served as the Captain for that ten year period.

The greatest attribute associated with Keith is his leadership ability. He not only inspired his teammates with this magnificent quality but was instrumental in having a great deal of influence on the youth of St. Lawrence.
